Mozilla launches Solo AI designed for freelancers and 'solopreneurs'

Mozilla has announced a new initiative dubbed Solo which is an artificial intelligence (AI) web-based website builder designed for freelancers and "solopreneurs".

The developer of the software has targeted the product at freelancers who do not have the resources or skills to create and build an online presence for their venture and prefer to concentrate on the task of delivering.

The creators of the Firefox browser have laid the goals for what can be accomplished by solo: "Using AI to generate the content for your website and to source your images which solopreneurs can modify to their own personal style and voice, thereby leveling your playing field."

"Solo is able to take this one step further, and will scrape your business's existing Yelp as well as another webpage (listing) to give you an online presence that's 100% authentic to you."

To use the new website builder, all that potential users have to do is go to Solo and give a few basic details regarding their project or business You can also link to your existing website. Then, Solo will use AI to create a brand new website for you, and all the steps, including personalization, only taking a few minutes.

Mozilla embraces open-source AI

The new initiative comes after Mozilla announced its plans in the beginning of this year, to embrace open source AI by committing $30 million to Mozilla.ai which is a startup focused on creating a completely independent and reliable ecosystem.

Directed by the Director of the company, Moex Draief "the goal of Mozilla.ai is to make it simple to create reliable AI products. We'll build things and work with people who share our vision of AI with agency, transparency, accountability and openness at its heart."

"Mozilla.ai will provide a place beyond academia and big tech for developers, founders and scientists, product managers and builders to meet."

In launching their challenger program as a viable alternative to large tech companies, Mozilla is aiming to become a reliable platform for AI and a platform which aims to take people on the journey with them and to distinguish itself from the rest.

If it is equipped with the capacity to keep up with the speed of change and draw enough attention to its offerings remains to be determined.
